The New RV Buyer’s Quick-Start Checklist

Buying your first RV? Don’t sign anything until you’ve run this checklist.

New doesn’t mean flawless. RVs are hand-assembled on tight schedules, and the walkthrough where you’re supposed to catch problems is the exact moment most buyers are too excited to look closely. This free checklist gives you something to hold in your hand at the dealership.

What’s inside

  • The 5 red flags to watch for during your Pre-Delivery Inspection — including the one nearly everyone walks straight past
  • The 5 questions to ask before you sign anything
  • A plain-English breakdown of your rights under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act

Who’s behind it

Hi — I’m Beatrice. I’m a fiber artist who crochets her way around the country in an RV, and I share both halves of that life here: yarn on the road, and everything I’ve learned about buying the rig you’re living in.

Before the road, I spent 17 years as a Department of Defense Contracting Officer, reviewing and negotiating contracts for the U.S. Army. These days I apply that same scrutiny to RV dealership contracts — because the tactics aren’t all that different.
